My Routine

Over time, I’ve learned that consistency matters more than complexity. My routine is intentionally simple—not because I don’t care about skincare, but because I’ve found that using a few thoughtful, gentle products consistently works far better than constantly changing things.

This routine supports my skin without overwhelming it, and it has become a quiet, reliable part of my day. I don’t believe there is one perfect routine for everyone. This is simply what has worked well for me.

Morning Routine

My morning routine is minimal and focused on supporting and protecting my skin without overwhelming it. Keeping things simple has made it easier to stay consistent, and over time that consistency has made the biggest difference.

Cleanse (or rinse)

In the morning, I usually rinse my face with lukewarm water, either at the sink or during my shower. If my skin needs it, I use a gentle cleanser, but most days, rinsing is enough to refresh gently without disrupting its natural balance.

Tone

After rinsing, I apply a small amount of toner to provide light hydration and prepare for moisturizer and sunscreen.

Moisturize

I apply moisturizer as needed to support my skin barrier and maintain hydration throughout the day. I keep this step simple and adjust based on how everything feels.

Protect with sunscreen

Sunscreen is the one step I never skip. Daily protection has made one of the biggest long-term differences in keeping my skin healthy and even.

The sunscreen I use every morning is from Solara Sun Care, which I originally found through EWG while looking for safer, more intentional products. It feels lightweight and comfortable, which makes it easy to use consistently.

Evening Routine

My evening routine focuses on cleansing and restoring moisture. This helps maintain balance and supports overnight recovery.

Oil cleanse

In the evening, I oil cleanse to gently remove sunscreen, makeup, and buildup from the day. This leaves my skin feeling clean without being stripped.

Moisturize

After cleansing, I apply moisturizer to support hydration overnight.

Seal with oil

As the final step, I apply a small amount of lightweight facial oil to seal in hydration. This helps prevent moisture loss and keeps my skin feeling soft and comfortable by morning.

My Philosophy

For me, skincare is less about finding the perfect product and more about finding a routine that is calm, consistent, and sustainable. Using fewer products allows me to pay attention to what actually works and avoid unnecessary irritation or complexity. I’ve also learned to focus more on ingredients than marketing — choosing simple formulas that support my skin instead of chasing promises on a label.

This approach has helped my skin feel more balanced, and just as importantly, it has made my routine feel peaceful and easy to maintain. It’s less about fixing something and more about caring for what’s already there.
